Wot, no Tower?

The Easter weekend has so far been one of contrasts each day in Blackpool weather-wise, on Friday it poured down with rain all day, Saturday was a day of blue skies and glorious sunshine, Easter Sunday saw the Fylde coastline blanketed with a heavy sea mist all day, despite it being lovely and warm with blue skies in Preston only 20 miles away! Surprisingly given the dismal weather, one of the trams that emerged was Boat Car 227, although this stayed in service for less than half the day and was later swapped for Balloon 717. The rest of the varied tram output included open-top Balloon 706 Princess Alice, Standard 147, Box Car 40, fat door Balloon 711 and Centenary Car 648. The gold timetable that was in operation saw six Heritage Tram round trips being made to Fleetwood Ferry during the day, the first timetabled heritage working of the year to Fleetwood was handled by Standard 147, with the last trip of the day to the fishing port being undertaken by 706 Princess Alice.
